Driver Charged in Fatal Bus-Stop Wreck
Raleigh police filed charges on Monday against the driver in a wreck at a Raleigh bus stop that killed one man and injured another.
Posted — UpdatedJason Daniel Oliver, 28, of 105 E. Delafield Ave., Durham, is charged with second-degree murder, felony aggravated assault, driving-while-impaired and driving with a revoked license.
Police said Oliver was also driving while consuming alcohol and had an open container of alcohol in the car.
In addition to those offenses, police also charged Oliver with possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana.
Oliver, who was injured in the accident, has been released from WakeMed and taken to the Wake County jail, where he's being held without bond on the murder charge, officers said. He is expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
Jesus Gonzales Garcia, 33, died at the scene, and Walter Rodriguez Garcia, 23, was critically injured.
Oliver has also faced charges for assault, counterfeiting and drug offenses.
