NASHVILLE — WRAL-TV5 won seven awards at the Mid-SouthRegional Emmys in Nashville Saturday night.

WRAL's "Noon News" won the Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast. "Fran's Fury:Stories from the Eye" won for Best News Special Event. AnchorDavid Crabtree and photojournalist Jay Jennings received an Emmyfor "Journey to the Holy Land," which was named Best News Magazine. "CentralXpress.com" was named Best Children's Entertainment Program.

TV5 also picked up the Emmy for Best Public Service Announcement for aBlack History Month spot, done by photographer Bob Sadler. WRAL's Doppler5000 campaign, produced by Shelly Leslie and Kevin Kolbe, was named BestIn-House Spot for News Promotion. Kevin Kolbe's post-production audiowork on the Doppler 5000 spot also won an Emmy.
