PITTSBORO — What was once a small country crossroads near Pittsboro is now somethingthat many call an accident waiting to happen.
Two serious accidents in one week have already happened at the intersectionof Highway 15-501 and Pittsboro-Moncure Road. Nearby residents say thedanger began when a connector road opened in October, bringing moretraffic from Highway 64.
It's in the early hours of the morning when folks say that theintersection is the most dangerous.
Several concerned residents say they have called the Department of Transportation about the problem.
