CHAPEL HILL — Mack Brown's replacement is no stranger toUNC football players. UNC leaders announced Monday afternoon that they had named defensive coordinator Carl Torbush to the post of head footballcoach.
At a press conference Monday, Torbush said this was a dream coming truefor him.
Torbush said he had many people to thank, and that he would do his bestto ensure that they made the right decision.
Torbush is 47 years old and has been a part of the Tar Heel coachingstaff since 1987. He has spent the past three years a defensivecoordinator. He has had one year of head coaching experience at thecollege level, at Louisiana Tech in 1987. He now becomes the 30th personto lead the UNC football team.
