UNC Football Coach is leaving to coach at the University of Texas.
CHAPEL HILL — Big time college sports means big money for schools and coaches -- just ask outgoing University of North Carolina football coach Mack Brown. He announced Thursday that he will leave townto take a job at the University of Texas for $750,000 a year.Brown's decision is still the talk of the town.

In fact, the buzz at the UNC basketball courts Thursday was aboutnothing much besides the departure of yet another coach from the school.

Student George Lambiris says he was so shocked by earlier news ofbasketball coach DeanSmith's retirement, he really didn't expect this.

Student Matthew Moody says loyalty is one thing -- money is another.

Coach Brown says his decision was based less on the very lucrativeoffer than on the Texas football tradition. Student Randy Williamson sayshe sees the point.

Fred Mueller is chairman of the sports science department at UNC.Despite the amount of money sports brings in to a school, Mueller sayscoaches are paid too much.

Brown or no Brown, most agree that football will go on at UNC.
