DURHAM — A traffic accident on Interstate 40 in the Triangle hasclaimed the lives of two people.
According to the Highway Patrol, a car was traveling east on I-40 at3:20 a.m., when it ran off the road, colliding with a tractor-trailerparked on the side of the road just west of the Fayetteville Road exit in Durham County.
The victims, both from Goldsboro, have been identified as SusanPendleton, 32, and Anthony Pendleton, 15. Susan Pendleton was in the frontpassenger seat, and Anthony Pendleton was in the right rear passengerseat.
The injured were taken to Duke Medical Center, but their names were notreleased.
