The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<b>DURHAM</b> — Police say a Durham man fatally shot hisgirlfriend in the head Thursday afternoon during an argument, then shothimself in the head. He did not die.

Instead, he called the North Carolina Highway Patrol and reported ashooting on Ellis Road at Highway 147.

Police say David Jordan got into argument with girlfriend, ShamonaHill and fatally shot her.

Jordan later confessed to Durham County Sheriff's Office.
