Juvenile Offenders Removing Graffiti

FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayetteville grocery store got aface-lift Saturday at the hands of some kids who wound up on the wrongside of the law. Some juvenile offenders who had been ordered to docommunity service spent the day painting over graffiti at aFayetteville Kroger store.

The store has been targeted by vandals several times, so policesupervised as teens in trouble cleaned up. Lee Nichols of the JuvenileRestitution Program says this is an appropriate task for the kids.

Police officers say this is a good way to help young criminals.The paint was donated.
