Durham Teen Charged in 2 Drive-Bys
Police have charged a 19-year-old teen in two separate shooting incidents in Durham.
Posted — UpdatedInvestigators charged Anthony Doberson, 19, of Gibson Road, with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Gray Avenue. Three males – two 17-year-olds and one 19-year-old – were shot in the legs, investigators said. Two victims were treated at the scene and one was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
Minutes after that shooting, Durham police Officer C.T. Skarzynski saw a burgundy and gray van on Hardee Street and stopped it on Liberty Street. Doberson, who was driving the vehicle, was taken into custody. Police said several other occupants jumped from the van and ran.
Doberson was held in the Durham County Jail on $250,000 bond.
