<b>DURHAM</b> — An 8-year-old boy has died as the result ofinjuries he received in a weekend accident. The van Glenn Mackal wasridingin ran off the road into an abandoned car Saturday on I-85 in GranvilleCounty, just north of the Durham County line.

The highway patrol says they believe the boy's mother fell asleep at thewheel.

Doctors treated six other people for minor injuries.
