RALEIGH — When the temperature soars, many people seekrelief in cool water. But a dip in the pool turned deadly for a little8-year-old boy Wednesday.
Investigators say the boy was swimming with a large group of adultsand children at Hampton Ridge Swim Club. Other children saw his body atthe bottom of the pool and screamed for help. The water was about 5 feetdeep.
Three lifeguards were on duty at the time of the drowning, but theywere unable to revive the boy with CPR.
