Donyall Smith of Rose Hill, Henry Julius Dunn of Mount Olive andTerrell Maurice Fishburne of Clinton escaped about 4 p.m. Sunday, saidSampson County sheriff's Maj. John Hayes.
Police say the men assaulted two jailers and sprayed them with macebefore breaking out.
Smith, who was discovered about 90 minutes later a few blocks from thejail, is a murdersuspect. Additional charges filed against him include two counts ofassault on a government employee, and one count eachof escape, common law robbery and first-degree kidnapping.
Police say Dunn, 28, and Fishburne, 18, are still on the loose. Fishburne was serving time on drug charges and Dunn was being held for a charge ofassault with a deadly weapon, Hayes said.
