Early Friday morning, searchers found his fishing boat and fishing rod.But there was no sign of the man. Raleigh Fire Chief P.C. Woodlief say there was fishing line tangled in the boat's motor.
A 7-boat search party spent Thursday morning looking for Schirmer. Thepark was closed to the public during that time. Woodlief says it's hard tofigure out what might have happened.
Woodlief wants to remind everyone that boating safety is of primeimportance, even for those who spend a lot of time on the water and feelcomfortable there.
