DURHAM — One Durham neighborhood is trying to take backits streets with the help of some local college students. North CarolinaCentral University students are teaming up with people who live aroundthe school.
The new alliance is forming community watch groups, setting up morelighting, and planning student-resident events. Resident Barbara Williamssays this partnership is just what the neighborhood needs.
In coming weeks, NCCU students and area residents will also buildplaygrounds and garden as a way to get to know each other better throughteamwork.
