Professor William Thompson is charged with two counts of contributingto the delinquency of a minor. The boys were 13 and 14 years old.
Thompson agreed to a search of his home where police found photos, winecoolers and cigarettes. The investigation is continuing.
Thompson has taught nuclear physics at UNC for 27 years. Police say thearrest of the tenured professor stems from statements they took from thetwo teenage boys.
Chapel Hill Police Lt. Marvin Clark told WRAL-TV5'sMark Robertsthe teens told policeabout the items they were exposed to in Thompson's home.
The two boys were apparently under the professor's care at the time. Hecalled police to report the boys missing and when police found them, theytold their story.
