DURHAM — Two people are dead after a head-on crash inDurham Saturday night.
The names of those involved have not been officially released.
Officials said a white pickup truck traveling north on East Geer Streetcrossed the center line. It crashed into a southbound tow truck.
The two men in the pickup were thrown more than 100 feet from point ofimpact.
The tow truck driver attempted to swerve onto the shoulder, accordingto an investigating trooper.
The tow truck driver, accompanied by his girlfriend, had been on hisway to answer a service call on I-40. They were treated at a localhospital for minor injuries.
