FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The adoptive parents of a Mississippi baby who had been kidnapped over the weekend arrived in Cumberland County Monday morning to pick up their child, authorities said.

Meanwhile, the two women accused of taking the child face one count of armed robbery and one count of kidnapping and could also face federal kidnapping charges.

On Saturday, two women and an armed man wearing masks stormed into Jennifer and Matt Erickson's home in Itawamba County, Miss., near the Tennessee and Alabama lines.

They tied up Jennifer Erickson with an electrical cord and fled with 5-month-old Madison Erickson, leaving another young child of Erickson's behind.

Jennifer Erickson was able to free herself and call authorities.

Authorities focused their investigation on the baby's biological mother, Jamie Kiefer. They contacted military police at Fort Bragg, where Kiefer's sister, Rikki Swann, lived before returning to Mississippi when her husband deployed to Afghanistan.

FBI agents and military police raided a home on Fort Bragg Sunday morning and arrested Kiefer and Swann. Madison was found unharmed in the home.

Authorities said Kiefer changed her mind about the adoption and took part in the kidnapping and that Swann helped her afterward. They are still looking for a man and another woman they say participated in the abduction.

Jennifer and Matt Erickson picked up their baby Monday morning and headed back to Mississippi, authorities said.

Kiefer and Swann are expected to have their first court appearance at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Both women are being held without bond in the Cumberland County Detention Center.

Mississippi authorities have started the process to extradite the two women. The process could take between two weeks to 90 days.
