Smoke Detectors Make Some Durham Residents Feel Safer

DURHAM — The Durham County Fire Marshall's office andthe Parkwood Volunteer Fire Department are working to save lives in theirarea.

Thursday, members spent the day installing smoke detectors in homes inthe Kentington Heights area of Durham County. The group also dropped offfire safety information packets in each home.

Several studies have proved that smoke detectors save lives.
