Bulls Fan Beaned by Blue Rocks Pitcher

DURHAM — Leaders of the Carolina Baseball League aretrying to determine how to punish a pitcher from the Wilmington BlueRocks. He's accused of throwing a ball at a fan at the Durham BullsAthletic Park last Sunday.

The ball struck a 30-year-old man in the face. He was taken to ahospital and treated.

League leaders say the incident started with a group of fans tauntedthe Wilmington team in the game's late innings. In the ninth, they say thepitcher stepped out of the dugout and hurled the ball into the stands.
