ROCKY MOUNT — A handyman charged with the sexual assaultof an elderly Rocky Mount woman is being held on $1 million bond. Policebelieve Danny O'Neal knew the victim.
He had worked for the 69-year-old victim prior to this past weekend'sassault. Richardson allegedly raped and beat the woman in her homeSaturday, before dumping her in a wooded area.
The crime has others in the area on edge. Neighbor Wade Boyette saysno one feels safe.
The victim is expected to recover physically.
