Raleigh Burglary Suspect Surrenders

RALEIGH — One of two suspects in a series of Raleighburglaries turned himself in to police Friday. Authorities are stilllooking for the man they believe was his partner, a person they describeas dangerous and probably armed.

Franklin Langston Jr., 34, turned himself in to the Wake CountyMagistrate's Office, where he was served with three warrants charging himwith burglary and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Boyd Johnston Hicks, 27, described as white, 6 feet tall and about 160pounds, is still at large.

The pair is suspected of burglarizing six homes in the Country ClubHills area, and stealing more than $100,000 worth of jewelry, silver andguns. The break-ins were committed at midday, even in the presence of homesecurity systems wailing.

Hicks' relatives have said he might have a weapon and that they expecthe would resist arrest.
