2 Bank Robbers Sought

RALEIGH — Raleigh police are asking for the public'shelp in tracking down two men in connection with robberies of two banks, anda third attempted robbery.

One man may have hit the same bank twice. Police say a man robbed aFirst Citizens branch on Glenwood Avenue on Feb.6 by strolling up to thedrive-in window and slipping the teller a note. Friday, just beforelunch, he tried the same thing again, but the teller recognized him fromthe first robbery. The teller gave him no money, shut the window andcalled police.

He was described as a white male in his mid- to late 20s or 30s with areddish-brown beard and mustache. He wore silver-rimmed sunglasses. Heis about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 145 to 160.

The other man police seek robbed a Fidelity branch on Creedmoor Road onTuesday. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnessesdescribed him as in his 20s, 5 feet 8, and 175 pounds. A blaze orange skimask was covering his face.

Anyone with information should call Raleigh police at 890-3555 orCrimeStoppers at 834-HELP. A reward up to $6,000 may be paid forinformation leading to the indictment of each man.
