Blankets of it.

For allergy sufferers it's a losing fight against the North Carolinaspring. It's a fight for which one must be adequately prepared said Krogerpharmacist Marcy Powell. She said there was a chance for nosesto win out over nature with the help of a lot of new medication that ison the market.

Alice Russell from N.C. State University said there was a misconceptionthat pine pollen was what aroused allergies. She said it was the oak treeswhich were the real culprits.

Flowers like azaleas, pansies and tulips are pollinated by insects. Asaresult, they have sticky pollen that prevents them from becomingwindborne. Russell said certain types of grass would produce pollen thataffects humans.

The pollen season in the Triangle is expected to last another six weeks, and then it is on to molds, spores and ragweed. These seasons do notusually end until September or October.
