Prison Lawsuit Goes to Court

RALEIGH — A lawsuit filed against the state claims there's not enough being done to help prison inmates who are mentally oremotionally handicapped or learning-disabled.

North Carolina Prison Legal Services filed the lawsuit over a year agoand it is now scheduled to be heard this coming fall. Special educationprograms now help 113 inmates, but the suit claims 725 should be in theprograms.
