Tip Leads to End of Stolen Goods Ring

FAYETTEVILLE — A major stolen goods ring has been putout of business in Cumberland County, and it was a simple tip from aprivate citizen that led to the bust.

Deputies confiscated $100,000 worth of stolen items including golfcarts, computers and guns. Investigators arrested three men. Gary Parkeris believed to be the leader of the crime ring.

Lt. James Black of the Cumberland County Sheriff's department said theyhave no idea how long the ring has been in business.

Deputies say serial numbers will help them get most of the items backto their owners.
