RALEIGH — The Wake County Waste Management Divisionis sponsoring the annual post-Christmas "Wrap It Up", the environmentallycorrect way to keep holiday waste out of area landfills.
The program helps to recycle tons of cards, boxes, catalogs, magazinesand other items, and can even find final resting places for retiredChristmas trees.
Cheryl Hannah of Waste Management says people should take advantage ofthis opportunity.
In Wake County, call 856-5597 for information on recycling holidaywaste. In Durham County, the number is 596-1870. Orange County's number is968-2800, extension 162, and in Chatham County, call 542-8254.
Last year, the program collected more than 16 tons of holiday waste.
