<b>DURHAM</b> — A former Durham jailer is facing charges forallegedly stealing money from an inmate.

The 23-year-old Roxboro man's job included checking-in prisonersbelongings. Investigators say he took $165 that was supposed to be putaway for safe keeping.

The jailer resigned shortly after the investigation began. He has beenfreed on a $1,000 bond.
