Investigators Search for Leads in Littleton Murder

LITTLETON — It's been a frustrating day forinvestigators in Halifax County as they continue to search for leads inthe death of a Littleton mother of three. There is no apparent motive nosuspect and few clues in connection with Wednesday's killing of PatriciaKing.

Police say they believe King struggled with an intruder before she wasshot in the back. Two of her sons found her Wednesday afternoon inside herhome.

Halifax County Sheriff M. L. Stalllings says the entire community is ina state of shock.

King was very active in the community and taughtSunday school at her church. Reverend Mike Currin says King will be missedin the church.

Anyone who has information that might help with the investigation isasked to call the Halifax County Sheriff's department.

King's funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
