They say they believe Williamson scaled the fence behind the Raleighfacility. The fence was topped with razor wire, so police say she may beinjured.
Corrections officials believe someone was waiting for Williamson in acar and may have assisted in her escape between 6 and 7 p.m. Monday. Herabsence was discovered during a 10 p.m. inmate check.
Williamson is a white female, 22-years-old, five feet six inches tall,and weighs 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blueprison shirt. She was serving a 44-to-62 month sentence and was considereda medium custody inmate. The facility houses minimum, medium and maximumsecurity female inmates.
Prison spokeswoman Cynthia Butler says officials hope someone will seeWilliamson and contact authorities.
Williamson is from the Jacksonville area of North Carolina. She wassent to Raleigh in January.
Officials warn that Williamson should be considered armed anddangerous. They say there is no lockdown in progress, but they arecounting heads more carefully today.
