The Rush Is On At RDU

MORRISVILLE — Time has run out for travelers whowanted to avoid crowds at the airport. Over 200,000 people are expected topass through RDU International airport between now and Sunday. That's 10percent more than last years traffic.

If you still haven't left, or have a return trip to deal with, thereare still some things you can do to avoid excessive hassles. TravelerLorie Parient (pictured below, right) says she did okay.

At the new RDU park-and-ride lot parking spaces are a hot commodity. By12:30 Wednesday nearly 1,200 of the 1,500 spaces were filled. TravelerColin Smith (pictured at right) says he got lucky.

Inside the airport, travelers anticipating big crowds are also arrivingwell ahead of schedule. Ravina Mulchandani (Left, in photo at left) saysshe arrived so early shefaced hours of boredom.

Mulchandani, despite her boredom, was luckier than many. As always,some will miss their flights altogether.
