<b>BRUNSWICK</b> — Jury selection for a murder trial inColumbus County was sidetracked when a potential juror allegedly showed updrunk for the selection process.

The judge found Carol Ann Gathers in contempt last week after fellowjury applicants complained she smelled of alcohol. Authorities say abreath test showed Gathers came to court with a blood alcohol level morethan twice the legal limit.

She reportedly told a bailiff she had been celebrating her birthday.
