<b>CLAYTON</b> — Johnston County leaders took the firststep Tuesday night toward what many believe will be the approval of a newlandfill.

The county's zoning board voted to schedule a public hearing concerninga piece of property north of Clayton. If the plan is approved, thelandfill will hold only natural debris such as tree limbs, rocks and soil.

Police say a woman was shot in the upper thigh while two men inside the home were arguing. EMS stabilized the woman and took her to ECU Health in Greenville. Both men suffered gunshot wounds during the altercation.
