<b>PITTSBORO</b> — A shooting in the parking lot of aChatham County rest home sent a man and woman to the hospital fortreatment of injuries.

A Pittsboro man was sitting with his girlfriend and a child in theparking lot of the Old Kellers rest home. The man says he was unloadinghis gun when it went off. The bullet hit his hand then struck hisgirlfriend's leg. Both are at UNC Hospitals.

Police say a woman was shot in the upper thigh while two men inside the home were arguing. EMS stabilized the woman and took her to ECU Health in Greenville. Both men suffered gunshot wounds during the altercation.
