FAYETTEVILLE — A driver for the Christian Cab Companyin Fayetteville is in serious condition after having been shot in the neckwhile on duty Tuesday.
The suspect, who has been taken into custody, is a 14-year-old boy. Hisattempted escape was tracked by private citizens and staff at a schoolwhere he apparently tried to hide.
Investigators say the boy shot John Anderson in the parking lot of theHighland shopping center on Raeford Road in what appeared to be a robberyattempt.
Carl Lindsey, manager of Christian Cab, says driving a taxi is a jobthat's becoming increasingly dangerous.

The suspect has been charged with attempted robbery and attemptedmurder.
