<b>RALEIGH</b> — A national sports team may soon be skatingin the Raleigh-Durham area.

Mayor Tom Fetzer announced plans Thursday to attract a National HockeyLeague team, though the area will compete with Atlanta, OklahomaCity and Nashville, among others, for the franchise.

The NHL is expected to make a decision by mid-December, and Raleigh'smission is to find a buyer by that time.
