Cary Police Release Sketches Of Road Rage Suspects

Posted Updated

CARY — Cary police have released sketches of the suspects in a Cary hit-and-run case that police say was sparked by road rage.

Police say one of the suspects clubbed motorist Rodney Benfield with a pipe and then hit him with their car. Benfield had minor injuries, including a cut on his head.

They also ran into Benfield's 60-year-old mother, who suffered a broken hip. She has been released from the hospital.

Police say the victim had shouted at the suspects after the cars almost ran into each other. Cary Crimestoppers is offering up to $2500 for information.
