RALEIGH, N.C. — The Triangle received some national exposure July 13 when the "CBS Early Show" came to Raleigh.

Hannah Storm and weatherman Dave Price broadcast the two-hour morning show live from Fayetteville Street, attracting scores of local residents.

The show covered the local arts and entertainment scene, North Carolina's agricultural tradition and the area's reputation as a hotbed of scientific research. Angus Barn Chef Walter Royal served up a steak salad during the broadcast.

The show also touched on issues such as Wake County's year-round school debate, North Carolina barbecue and NASCAR enthusiasm.

"Raleigh's so great. I mean, just this wonderful combination of Southern charm and a lot of brains," Storm said. "The Research Triangle is just amazing, the things they do."

Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs performed on the Early Show's Summer in the City Tour.
