APEX, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation reopened all lanes in both directions of U.S. 64 in Apex after a natural gas leak in the area was repaired Wednesday afternoon.
U.S. 64 was closed between North Salem Street/Davis Drive and Lake Pine Drive through the early afternoon hours as crews worked to stop the leak.
Officials said that residual delays were expected on U.S. 1 as traffic flow resumes. The following detours were suggested:
U.S. 64 East to North Salem Street to Old Raleigh Road/Lake Pine Drive back to U.S. 64 East. U.S. 64 West to Lake Pine Drive/Old Raleigh Road to North Salem Street back to U.S. 64.
