SANFORD, N.C. — Two children in Sanford discovered the body of a dead man in an alley beside First Street.
Police said they are treating the discovery as a suspicious death and that they have sent the body to the medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
Police have not said whether they have identified the man or how he might have died.
