Florida Woman Faces Charges In Connection With Garner Accident

GARNER, N.C. — A Florida woman faces several charges in connection with a Sunday-morning multiple vehicle accident on westbound N.C. Highway 70 in Garner.

Garner police said Tracey Jo Neal, 36, of Fort Myers, Fla., was traveling in her red Nissan sedan near Greenfield Parkway shortly before 10 a.m. when she rear-ended a truck that was also going westbound on Highway 70.

The truck flipped over on its roof and collided with a Toyota 4Runner, police said. The Nissan landed in an embankment along the highway.

Neal and the truck's driver, whose name was not released, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Neal was charged with driving while impaired, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless and reckless driving and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was being held in the Wake County Jail Sunday afternoon.

Three westbound lanes of Highway 70 were blocked while crews worked to clean up the accident.
