Car Located In Garner Hit-And-Run; Person Of Interest Now Sought

GARNER, N.C. — Investigators now want to speak to a person of interest after the car believed to be involved in a hit-and-run in Garner over the weekend was located Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, the 1995 Oldsmobile 88 Royale was found on Downing Road in Raleigh. Investigators say that evidence found at the scene of the accident matches up with damage found on the suspect vehicle.

"The vehicle had extensive windshield and front, driver's side damage," said Garner Det. Don McDuffie. "We were able to match up evidence found at the scene to the suspect vehicle."

Police are looking for 36-year-old Tezell Stuart of Raleigh. Authorities said that Stuart is only listed as a person of interest in the case, but police want to question him about the incident.

The victim was listed in critical but stable condition at WakeMed on Wednesday.
