RALEIGH, N.C. — Tests show that sugar water is what a man allegedly injected into a packet of meat at a Raleigh grocery store last month.
Earlier this month, police arrested Charone Josey after employees at the Food Lion on Avent Ferry Road saw a man with a syringe acting suspicious in the meat department of the grocery store.
Employees immediately removed the meat and turned it over to police for tests. Authorities believe the case to be an isolated incident.
Even though the substance was not determined to be harmful, Josey could still face federal charges.
