A woman, who is a student at North Carolina Central University, claimed she was raped by three members of the Duke lacrosse team while performing at an off-campus party in March.
Mary and Travis, who asked that their last names not be revealed, spoke to CBS' "48 Hours." They said their daughter has been portrayed unfairly. Defense attorneys are questioning the accuser's credibility. The alleged victim's parents said that is one reason they are coming forward to speak on her behalf.
"She is a beautiful young lady and that she is a good girl. She is not bad," Mary said.
"She has always been my baby girl and I will always love her," Travis said.
Mary and Travis also told "48 Hours" that even though their daughter is afraid to leave her house, she is trying to keep up with her course work in college by taking classes online. They said their daughter was trying to make a better life for herself and her children before the alleged incident.
They also said they had no idea their daughter returned to exotic dancing just a couple of months before the incident to make money for college.
