Duke Graduation To Be Handled Differently In Wake Of Lacrosse Rape Investigation
Posted — Updated|
Duke Graduation Weekend
For the first time, media credentials are required for all journalists. In addition, media interviews can only be conducted in a designated area.
In March, a woman told police three members of Duke's lacrosse team raped and beat her at an off-campus party. For weeks, students were surrounded by protests and national media crews became a permanent part of campus life.
School officials said they are trying to find the right balance between letting students enjoy their special day and allowing the media to do their job.
The university's board of trustees will meet Friday and Saturday.
