Tommy Thompson Joins Advisory Board for Constella Group

DURHAM, N.C. — Tommy Thompson, a former Health and Human Services Secretary in the Bush Administration, will serve as the chairman of a new advisory board launched by

Constella Group

.

Constella Group provides a variety of professional health services.

Thompson is now a partner with the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in Washington, D.C.

"It is an honor to have this distinguished group of people helping us advance our vision of enhancing human health around the world, every day," said Donald Holzworth, Constella Group's chairman and chief executive officer. "This group has worked on some of the most critical health issues of our time, and their advice and leadership are essential toward our successful journey to create a healthy world, one free of disease."

Other advisory board members include: William Roper, chief executive officer of the University of North Carolina Health Care System and dean of the UNC School of Medicine; Ciro de Quadros, president and CEO of the Albert B. Sabin Vaccine Institute; Carol Browner, principal, Albright Group and a former head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Kenneth Olden, past director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the National Toxicology Program.

Also: Sandra Thurman, CEO, International AIDS Trust; Michael Osterholm, director, Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy; Paul Antony, George Washington University Medical Center and chief medical officer, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA); Margaret Dardess, associate provost for strategic partnerships, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and Robert Smith of the Constella Group.
