Posted Updated

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The final four "American Idol" contestants, which includes N.C.'s Chris Daughtry, traveled to Memphis and worked with music producer Tommy Mottola. They came back to Tinsel Town to tackle Elvis songs.

Daughtry sang "Suspicious Minds," a performance that judge Randy Jackson said he did not think was his best performance, but it was "kinda nice."

Judge Paula Abdul said after hearing Daughtry's rendition, "You forgot how great that song is until you hear Chris Daughtry sing it."

Daughtry's next song of the night was "A Little Less Conversation." Jackson said Daughtry delivered the song with the right beat and the right tone. Judge Simon Cowell thought Daughtry's first song was better, saying up until the end, the song was "flat."

Find out how Daughtry and the other "American Idol" contestants Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
