RALEIGH, N.C. — For the second time in just over a month, a car crash has claimed the life of a senior at Wakefield High School.
Ashley Riggsbee, 18, was driving on
Raven Ridge Road
near Falls of the Neuse Road around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators say she lost control of her car and hit a tree. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
Four Wakefield High seniors died March 4 after the driver of their car lost control on an exit off the new Highway 64 bypass and flipped over a rail. Another Wakefield student died in a crash in November, 2005.
