Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two families in an Fayetteville apartment unit were left homeless early Saturday after a blaze damaged their building.

The fire started in one unit of a condominium building at Barton's Landing shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday. All residents in the same building as that unit as well as the surrounding area were evacuated, but those families have returned.

The local Red Cross is assisting the families displaced by the fire.
