St. Augustine's College Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — St. Augustine's College will pay $85,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a federal civil rights agency.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit charged that the college subjected a female employee of the campus police department to sexual harassment by the police chief.

The lawsuit says Tracy Parker was the victim of sexual comments, sexual advances and inappropriate touching, and was forced to quit because of it.

Parker says she and other female workers were sexually harassed by a male manager.

Representatives from the college did not immediately return WRAL's calls for comment.
