State Superintendent Wants To See Improvement At Cumberland School

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Leaders at one Cumberland County school need to improve test scores as soon as possible.

State Superintendent June Atkinson wants Westover High School administrators to present improvement plans.

About half of the school's students fail state tests each year.

Judge Howard Manning recently threatened to close schools that do not make the grade.
